I am a designer with over twenty years experience designing textiles, prints and product for the UK and International high street.

The true joy of being a designer is the diversity it can offer, I love to see a product develop from an inital concept right through to production and I enjoy having an input into all aspects of it’s journey, from fabric selection to packaging and branding and even photography for web and catalogue promotion.

Every step presents a new challenge and a chance to put my creative stamp on the final product.

My strengths lie in being commercially aware and I begin every design project by researching market trends and creating colour and mood story boards, allowing a clear direction for the given brief.

My career began designing embroidered, woven and printed table linen which led on to more home textiles, bedding and cushions. I then moved into the nursery and baby sector, designing products to include; nursery bedding, wallpaper and wall stickers, baby rockers, strollers and soft activity toys.

After being made redundant I became freelance and began a new challenge of designing greeting cards, gift bags & wrap and graphics for clothing.

A part time contract led me into the world of Marketing where I got the chance to learn new skills; website design, logo’s and marketing material.

Despite not being in full time permanent employment for a short while, I am always busy designing and looking for the next creative challenge. In my spare time I began creating illustrations of cycling and holiday destinations which I sell online and at weekend craft events. It gives me the chance to get away from the computer screen and talk to lots of new people.
